Works with scanned PDFs
Image-only PDFs are OCR'd server-side with Gemini so scanned articles still produce clean slides.
Industry solution
Upload any PDF and get an editable PowerPoint in under a minute. PD2PPT summarizes long PDFs, preserves figures in-sequence, and generates native charts and speaker notes.
Generate a deck for free and download an editable five-slide sample of it. The remaining slides stay locked in the preview until you buy.
Do not upload documents containing identifiable patient information or protected health information. Remove patient names, dates, record numbers and other identifying details before using any third-party presentation tool, and follow your institution's privacy policies. PD2PPT is not certified as HIPAA-compliant and should not be used for protected health information.

Figures are extracted and placed near their source pages, not dumped at the end.
Charts, tables, shapes and text are native PowerPoint objects. No image-of-a-slide traps.
PD2PPT is purpose-built for PDF-to-PowerPoint: it summarizes long PDFs, preserves figures in-sequence, and outputs a fully editable .pptx — no image-of-a-slide traps.
Upload any PDF at pd2ppt.com — the free tier shows a watermarked on-screen preview and lets you download an editable five-slide sample. Paid plans unlock the full-length deck without the sample cap.
Most converters just image-copy PDF pages. PD2PPT rewrites content into structured slides using AI, keeps figures in-sequence, and produces native editable text and charts.
PDFs up to 20 MB and 15 pages are supported. Longer PDFs can be split into sections.
Yes. Original figures are extracted and placed near their source pages, and numeric tables become native editable PowerPoint charts.
Start with the output, not the marketing. Check that the file opens as a real .pptx with selectable text, that you can see and edit the outline before export, that figures and tables survive in a usable form, and that a free sample exists so you can judge quality on your own document before paying.
Editable means every element is a native PowerPoint object: text boxes you can retype, tables you can re-sort, charts with underlying values, and images you can move or replace. If a slide is one flat picture of a PDF page, the deck is only editable in the sense that you can delete it.
Often, but not always. A scanned PDF has no text layer, so the content has to be read by OCR first. PD2PPT runs OCR automatically when it finds no usable text. Results depend on scan quality: clean, straight, high-resolution pages work well; faint photocopies, handwriting and dense multi-column tables can come back wrong.
Where the PDF exposes them, original figures are extracted and placed near the point they appear in the source, numeric tables can be rendered as native PowerPoint tables or charts, and references can be collected onto a citations slide. Not every PDF exposes clean figures, so always compare the deck against the original.
Use a direct page converter when you want the layout preserved exactly — a poster, a one-page handout, an already-designed deck exported to PDF, or a legal document where wording and formatting must not change. Direct conversion is about fidelity. AI generation is about restructuring long prose into a talk.
Confirm the document contains no protected health information, that you are permitted to share it with a third-party service, and that its licence allows reuse of figures. Work from published papers, institutional guidelines and de-identified teaching material. Verify every clinical statement in the generated deck against the source before presenting.
Direct page converters, AI presentation generators and design tools solve different problems.
| Direct page converter | AI presentation generator | Design / restyling tool | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Primary purpose | Reproduce the PDF page in PowerPoint | Rebuild the document as a talk | Make an existing deck look better |
| Output structure | One slide per page | Slides organised by argument or section | Same structure, new styling |
| Editability | Varies — often flattened text or images | Native editable text, tables and charts | Editable within the tool's own format |
| Summarisation | None | Yes, with adjustable depth | None |
| Figures | Kept as laid out on the page | Extracted and placed near their source point where the PDF allows | Reused from what you supply |
| Citations | Only if already on the page | Can be collected on a references slide | Not handled |
| Speaker notes | No | Drafted per slide | No |
| Best use case | Posters, handouts, exact-layout documents | Long reports and papers you must present | Polishing a deck you have already written |
